Ripened to Perfection

One of the biggest challenges with avocados is timing—getting them at just the right stage of ripeness.

Our carefully chosen supply partner is widely recognised as the industry leader, and has pioneered a ripening programme for the New Zealand market.

Ensuring our avocados arrive ready to eat means less waste, better flavour, and a more consistent experience for chefs and customers alike.

Seasonality: When to Expect the Best

New Zealand’s avocado season typically runs from August through March, with peak availability in spring and summer. During this time, local avocados are abundant, fresh, and full of flavour.

Avocado Storage Tips

To get the most out of your avocados, proper storage is key:

  • Ripe Avocados: Once ripe, store in the fridge to slow further ripening. They’ll stay fresh for 2–3 days.
  • Cut Avocados: Sprinkle with lemon juice or vinegar to prevent browning, then wrap tightly or store in an airtight container in the fridge.
  • Bulk Storage for Foodservice: Keep ripe avocados in a cool, dry place and rotate stock regularly. For pre-prepped avocado, use within 24 hours for best quality.
